The Kulen Expedition

The Kulen Expedition

$95 per Person

$55 per Passenger*
Go to the place where it all began….In 802 AD, Jayavarman II crowned himself godking. Rich in history, Phnom Kulen is where the “Age of Angkor” began, and is one of only two places in Cambodia where Buddha is reputed to have set his foot. North of Siem Reap, the rice fields stretch out to the natural boundary formed by the Kulen Mountains which divide the lush lowland from the province’s more barren north; here, at Phnom Kulen is Cambodia’s largest reclining Buddha, carved out of a massive rock, while at two spots on the Siem Reap River the river bed itself has been carved with intricate linga and religious scenes. In addition, we push on further, exploring kilometers of complex back trails, deep jungle tracks, and hidden temples, including the stunning and sought-after stone elephant and lion statues.
